Hike near stunningly clear alpine lakes, in large open meadows and through immense limestone valleys on this spectacular eight-day trek into the northern heart of the Bob Marshall Wilderness.
This point-to-point backcountry hiking trip visits the Trilobite Range that towers above the Middle Fork of the Flathead River and the Trilobite Lakes, the crystal-clear small mountain lakes nestled just below the impressive peaks. We’ll spend a few days exploring the area, hiking to the lakes for a refreshing swim or for a summit bid to Trilobite Peak (8,245’), with unparalleled views in every direction waiting at the top. This is the most strenuous stock-supported trip we are offering this year, but this beautiful stretch of wild country is worth it.
Additional stopovers are the high elevation Big River Meadows—an idyllic place surrounded by the limestone peaks of the Continental Divide—and the beautiful rock pools and small slot canyons of the South Fork of Birch Creek.
If you are looking for a Bob Marshall Wilderness adventure that has it all—peak climbing, river walking, fishing alpine lake swimming and wildflower viewing – this trip is for you.
