From the clear waters of the North Fork of the Blackfoot to the broad Danaher Valley to views on top of Jumbo Lookout, this trip has a little bit of everything and a whole lot of wilderness beauty. On this 7 day adventure, hike through a significant portion of the southern Bob Marshall Wilderness, exploring three different watersheds along the way.
Travel up the Dry Fork of the Blackfoot and into the historic Danaher Meadows area and the headwaters of the South Fork of the Flathead River. On a layover day, hike to the “triple watershed divide” of the Blackfoot, Sun, and Flathead rivers where you can also see the western edge of the Scapegoat Plateau and the long rise of Flint Mountain. Visit Jumbo Lookout, allowing you to peer into the heart of the South Fork River Valley. For the last portion of the trip, venture over the continental divide to a camp along the cool waters of the South Fork of the Sun River.
Exploration, big vistas, and timeless mountain valleys are just a few of the many things that make this trip a Bob Marshall Wilderness classic. We don’t offer this trip very often, so join us for a rare opportunity to venture into this area of the Bob.
